Not a problem with this product. My window mount was alway detaching and the module would go flying. I highly recommend it. I actually ordered the dashboard mount by mistake but I absolutely love it. The module easily clicks in and out of this holder and it stays put like you wouldn't beleive.
Not a huge deal, but still annoying. This is an ok dash mount, but definitely not perfect. When I hit bumps it moves a little, so every now and then I'll have to bring it back to where it originally was on my dash. The second is that it tends to shuffle around on my dash.
The dash mount works ok. I have 2 problems with this mount. I bought this dash mount for my C340 because my suction mount no longer stuck to the window after about a year.
The first is that it's so expensive. I have to say it is better than the suction mount because it will last longer than a year. It is easy to get the Garmin in/out of the mount and I am pretty sure it is nearly impossible for the mount to topple over while driving.
I have taken some hard turns and it barely budged.
It doesn't leave marks on my windshield and I feel like my navigator is safe from falls. I have taken my c340 attached to this mount down a rough, bumpy, washboard, gravel road and the mount only slid a couple of inches after 25 minutes of driving. The c340 was never in danger.I really prefer this mount to the suction cup that came with the c340. I use this mount with a c340 Street Pilot. I feel that the suction cup or the ring left behind makes you a mark as a traveler and opens you up to any problems that come with that distinction such as theft. The footprint on this mount is bigger than the sand bag design. It is well built and well designed. The mount does move a little bit, but it is nothing to worry about.
I personally did not like hanging it on the window as it can block your view. Now my Garmin can be placed anywhere on the dashboard or in the bump out over my radio. Also the sticker (which is permanent)used for sitting it on the dashboard was also not an option as I have a leased car.
I didn't need the expense. Much better than the suction cup mount because when your windows are not squeaky clean the suction cup doesn't adhere. Since my Garmin is no longer produced most big box stores told me to buy a new, updated model.
Go over a bump and the Garmin is in your lap. If you want an easy removal, just pick it up and stow away in glovebox. Mine was working perfectly well but the wire from the window mount broke off.I would venture to say this wire could only last so long.
Why didn't Garmin offer this option when product was purchased.
Stays right where I put it. Some reviews state that it slides off dash, but I have not had that issue. Does a great job. Much better than sticking mount to windshield.
